Santa Rosa Things to Do

Santa Rosa is home to an abundance of entertainment, music, fine dining, beer and wine, endless shopping, and gorgeous natural surroundings. There is a never ending list of things to do while in or around Santa Rosa. Experience the heart of Sonoma County by participating in some of the best activities in town.

Luther Burbank Home and Gardens┬áis a nationally registered state, city, and horticultural historical landmark, and Santa Rosa is proud to be its home. Located in the downtown district, the establishment is a greenhouse, a city park, a museum, and a gift shop, all in one. The Luther Burbank establishment offers multiple tours throughout the year in order to educate the residents and visitors of Santa Rosa on a bit of its history. The public tour provides patrons with a glimpse into the life of Luther Burbank himself, as well as an in depth look at his home, the greenhouse, and the gift shop. The “gardens” tour is a specialized tour through Burbank’s horticultural work, specifically focusing on his medicinal herbs, flowers, roses, and ornamental grasses. For less of a structured tour through the establishment, check out the “garden audio tour” where you can use your cell phone to learn factoids about the gardens at specific hot spots. The museum allows you to learn more about the man and his work through artifacts and images.

At Safari West, enjoy an “African adventure” by exploring the wildlife living in Sonoma County. The virtual tour will allow you to experience over 800 animals living in the “Sonoma Serengeti.” The experience is three hours long and is a guaranteed exciting and educational experience for the entire family.
